2017Rachel & Jason’s Wedding – Merrin Garden-
There is something so idyllic + romantic about elopements and the thought of exchanging your vows surrounded by nature. Rachel + Jason were married in a sentimental, private ceremony in the forest, led by a close friend.

To be honest, we felt like our wedding was almost a formality at this point. We’d been together for six years and we’d been living together (and raising a dog together) for most of them. The wedding was supposed to be for our families – a big celebration that they could get excited about, but we didn’t place too much significance in. We were not prepared for how meaningful and magical our wedding would end up being for us – a celebration of not just our marriage but of everything that made our relationship unique, amplified by being surrounded by the people we care about most in the world.
As filmmakers, we drew inspiration for the movie from some of our favorite films. We wanted the reception to have the mysterious, magical feel of the Harry Potter films, awash with purple lights and vines and lightbulbs hanging from the sky. For the ceremony, we wanted the greens and browns of a rainforest – we wanted it to feel alive and vibrant and beautiful, but also natural. Sort of like the scenic backdrops of a Lord of the Rings or Jurassic Park movie – both films whose scores we played during the ceremony.
