Featured Wedding-Lauren & Michael’s Rustic Wedding at Lake Mohawk Country Club

This gorgeous wedding was featured in the Carats & Cake. We think this wedding is such a perfect example of why rain doesn’t ruin your wedding day – it will only make it that much more memorable + beautiful! Lauren+ Michael chose Lake Mohawk Country Club in Sparta Township, New Jersey for their wedding.

A bit about the day from Lauren:

Mike and I loved the idea of getting married outside. During our first visit to the lakeside venue we began to imagine a ceremony on the sand with views of the glistening water, distant mountain tops, and waves crashing in the background. We knew it was perfect. We began planning every detail of the wedding based on personal tastes.  We weren’t quite sure where the theme of the wedding was going (typical Lauren and Mike), but everything pointed in the direction of beautiful rustic/romantic lakeside wedding.
Like any bride, I checked the weather every 5 minutes as the wedding day got closer and closer.  Each day the  chance of rain got higher and higher !!!  The lakeside wedding we were dreaming of for 2 years was in jeopardy of becoming an indoor country club affair.  We had to quickly shift our mindset from being upset about the weather to being optimistic and considering what the day is truly about.  So, in preparation, we purchased umbrellas and matching rain boots for some fabulous rain photos and were ready for whatever mother nature was going to give us.  There was a 90% chance of rain on the morning of our wedding.  I would by lying if I didn’t admit that I was slightly bummed, but getting pampered with my girls and slipping into my princess gown certainly helped.  About an hour before the ceremony began, the skies cleared and the sun came out.  I ran over to the window of my bridal suite and saw everything being set up outside!!   Soon after, I
walked down the burlap aisle runner on the beach, to my handsome husband, as I had always imagined.
After the reception, the rain began to fall again, so I slipped into those rain boots, grabbed the umbrella and still got those fabulous rain photos.  Could it be any more perfect?

The mantra “Rain on your wedding day is good luck” comes in full force with Lauren & Michael’s wedding celebration– their wedding day are full of sweet details and beautiful moments where all the pieces seem to fall into place.

We hope y’all enjoyed this wedding as much as we did. Congratulations Lauren & Michael !
